What a beautiful day! This last year has been a whirlwind of activity, with the COVID pandemic I was able to focus in on me for once in my life and what I want. My goals in life and how I keep getting swept off away from those goals. It is like the universe keeps whispering, "not yet." Here is a little bit about my history and some information about the future.
This year I plan on taking charge of my destiny and live willfully with a purpose. I am making an effort to be more active in my community and bring the people I cherish closer. At the same time I am working harder than I ever have in my life to try to get things rolling for my small business.
Allura's Dark Corner for me started out in 2018 as a way for me to show my paintings. In 2007 I was actually part of Camille Fliss Co-oper Art Gallery. Here are some horrible youtube videos I made of the gallery one night. She gave me the opportunity to really see what being part of a gallery was about. I have always been drawn to drawing and painting so it was the obvious direction, even if it is just a hobby for me. Even now I still work to pay the bills.
Many hours and hours later of painting and experimentation I had landed on Mandalas, Henna art in particular caught my interests. I still draw my mandalas and I also make some really pretty Earrings with those drawings and concepts. However, when the pandemic started I had been watching paint pours for a while and I finally decided with my Unemployment check in hand to start experimenting. I can't say I regret it. I have had so much fun painting in this way.
Everytime I start a new composition I have no idea how it will end. I can choose the colors and the method in which i put the paint on the canvas. It heightens to excitement and the rewards of this type of painting. In 3 months I made over 200 paintings. I still absolutely adore this style of painting. However, I had to slow down, the paintings sadly do not sell well and I have to fund my hobbies through my work.
In light of this I started making Jewelry last year. I adore the effects I can do with Resin. I can make Glow in the dark Cameos and Mood Effect necklaces. I Love it when my customers bestow me with the honor of making a custom piece for them as well. I even have a page dedicated on my website for contacting me so I can receive requests.
I recently started to sell out of a wonderful shop located in Cookeville, TN. The Tiny Cloak is the cutest little shop in cookeville Tucked in the back of the Maddux Place Building on the square. Full of many wonderous items and a great collection of crystals. In 2021 their shop was on the Art Prowl List as #1. They have held a rack of my paintings and sells my jewelry and my handmade sewn drawstring bags for almost a year. I am still so excited and honored to be part of her business.
I guess the point of this page today Good reader, is to inform you of my journey and what is available at your fingertips if you so choose it.
Have a beautiful day!
